Local food is a global issue.

which are petroleum derivatives. Then the crop is harvested and brought
to market with diesel fuelwith the average food item on our plate
traveling an astounding 1500 miles to get there. After all that,
most consumers will drive their car to the supermarket or restaurant
to purchase it. By making a point of eating homegrown, local food,
purchasing local produce, and focusing on local organic, we can greatly
reduce our carbon footprint as it pertains to food.
